App: Hypna: Anesthesia Case Log

Developer: Constantine Skenderis

Summary

Hypna is a private case-logging tool for anesthesia providers. Your data

stays on your device.** Hypna does not collect, transmit, sell, or share

any personal information or health data.

What Hypna stores

All cases, drafts, profile information (name, NPI, DEA, state licenses,

certifications, saved locations, profile photo), and reminders you enter

into Hypna are stored locally on your iPhone using Apple’s SwiftData

framework. We never see this data. It does not leave your device unless

you explicitly export it as a PDF, CSV, Excel, or Word file and choose

to share that file via iOS’s share sheet.

What Hypna does NOT do

We do not have a backend that stores user data.

We do not collect analytics, telemetry, crash reports, or usage data.

We do not include third-party advertising, tracking SDKs, or trackers.

We do not sell, rent, share, or disclose any information to third parties.

We do not require an account, login, or any sign-in.

Network connections

Hypna makes exactly one type of outbound network request: a check at

launch against our Supabase server to determine the latest published

version of the app. This request sends no personal information —

it asks only “what is the latest iOS version?” and receives a version

number in response. The request includes no identifiers, no analytics,

and no usage data.

Permissions

Hypna may request the following iOS permissions, all of which are optional:

Photo Library: only used if you choose to set a profile picture. The

image you select is stored on your device and never transmitted.

Motion & Fitness: used for subtle parallax effects on background

imagery. No motion data is recorded or transmitted.

Notifications: used only for the reminders you configure inside

Hypna (e.g., reminders to finish draft cases).

You may revoke any of these at any time in iOS Settings → Hypna.

Children’s privacy

Hypna is intended for anesthesia providers (typically licensed medical

professionals over 18). Hypna does not knowingly collect any information

from children.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is my data private?

Yes. All cases, drafts, and profile information stay on your iPhone.

Hypna does not have a backend that stores user data, and does not collect

analytics or share anything with third parties. See the

privacy policy above for details.

How do I add a case?

Tap the + button on the Today tab or the Cases tab. Fill in the

fields, then tap Save. To save a case for later, tap Save as

Draft — it’ll appear in your draft list on the Today widget and

in the Cases tab.

What exports are supported?

PDF (branded with your name and credentials), CSV, Excel (.xls), and

Word (.rtf). All exports are generated on-device.

How does the widget work?

Long-press your home screen → + → search “Hypna” → add the

Drafts Counter widget. Tap the + and  buttons on the

widget to increment your draft count. When you next open Hypna, those

tallies become actual draft cases for you to finish editing.

Reminders aren’t appearing

1. Make sure iOS notifications are enabled for Hypna: Settings → Hypna → Notifications

2. In Hypna, go to Profile → Reminders and confirm the cadence you want

3. Make sure you’ve granted notification permission when prompted

How do I delete a case or batch of cases?

Single case: swipe left on the case in the Cases tab, then tap Delete.

Bulk: in the Cases tab, tap Select (top right), tap cases to select, then tap Delete.

Whole import batch: Cases tab → Batches → tap the batch → Delete Entire Batch.

What devices does Hypna support?

Hypna requires iPhone running iOS 18 or later.

My state license expiration says “Due Soon” — what does that mean?

Hypna shows three renewal statuses:

Current: more than 90 days until expiration

Due soon: within 90 days

Expired: past the expiration date

Update the expiration date on your Profile page when you renew the license.
